Female Political Prisoners

There is a great news from Myanmar in November, 2013 about the government release 69 political prisoners from 18 prisons on Friday (11/15/2013). Two grandsons of the late Burmese dictator General Ne Win are among those who are set free. But, some female political prisoners for democracy fighters are still in the prison. There is a hope to release them soon.

For justice and peace for Myanmar

Buddhist nuns chant and seek rice and alm in Yangon, Myanmar. Photo Internet
Most Burmese are devout Buddhists. Buddhist monks and nuns are spiritual backbone of Burmese society. In 2007, they were on the front line of the Saffron Revolution against military regime. As a person who stand for justice and actively supported monks and nuns since the Saffron Revolution, I still support those brave religious workers even away from the mother land. In honor of such brave religious heroes and heroines who stand strongly on the side of public for the justice and with the purpose of peace in Myanmar, I made a temporary nun in October, 2013 at the Burmese monastery in Massachusetts.
