13th February

13th February is the Birthday of former Myanmar leader General Aung San who is admired by the whole citizens. A poem of his biography was in the Myanmar text book when I was in primary school. The following is the poem in Myanmar language.
“ ေဖေဖၚ၀ါရီ ၁၃ မွာ
ဗုိလ္ခ်ဳပ္ေမြးေန႔ပါ၊

တစ္ေထာင့္ကုိးရာ တစ္ဆယ့္ငါး
ေရွ႕ေနဦးဖာ သား၊

ဇာတိနတ္ေမာက္ မေကြးခရုိင္
သိၾကမ်ားခုတုိင္၊

ၾကံ႕ၾကံ႕ခုိင္တဲ့ ဇာနည္ဘြား
မိခင္ေဒၚစုသား၊

တစ္ေထာင့္ကုိးရာ ေလးဆယ့္ခြန္
ေျပာင္းၾကြတမလြန္၊

မ်က္ရည္သြန္လုိ႔ ဘ၀င္ညွဳိး

Panglong agreement

The Panglong Conference, held in February 1947, was an historic meeting that took place at Panglong in the Shan States in Burma between the Shan, Kachin and Chin ethnic minority leaders and Aung San, head of the interim Burmese government. Today is the 67th Union day of Myanmar , honoring to the Panglong agreement which is the foundation of the Union of Myanmar composed of 7 states and 7 divisions.

99th Birthday Celebration of General Aung San is successfully held in New York, USA. Burmese community in USA, mostly from New York, actively participated for the event in terms of sharing merits to our former leader, General Aung San, and passing the history of Myanmar and General Aung San to the next Burmese generation by reading biography , poems of General Aung San and other activities.
