Education supports the growth of
civil society,democracy, and political stability,
allowing people to learn about their rights and
acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for national
development.
In developing countries including
Myanmar, the need for providing opportunities for all forms of learning is the
first priority since all basic development must be associated with learning.
However, student demonstrators are marching from different parts of the country
and they set to end in Yangon demanding
changes to a new National Education Law and more inclusive consultation on
education reform.
Educational challenges and dilemmas faced by developing and
transition countries can be handled by the qualified national leader, political
party, the responsible government and all the citizens.
The National League for Democracy
will make reform of the education system an “urgent” priority, party leader Daw
Aung San Suu Kyi said last week.
